New Life Christian Academy Statement of Faith
1. There is but one, only true and living God who is spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in His Being, Wisdom, Power, Holiness, Justice, Goodness, and Truth.
2. There are three persons in the Godhead: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and these three are One God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory.
3. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only-begotten son of God, begotten of very God, begotten not made, being one of substance with the Father by whom all things were made, who for men, and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered, was buried, and on the third day He rose again according to the scriptures, and ascended into Heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father, and He shall come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end.
4. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified.
5. The whole counsel of God concerning all things necessary for His own glory, man's salvation, faith and life, is either expressly set down in scripture, or by good and necessary consequence may be deduced from scripture, unto which nothing at any time is to be added whether by new revelations of the spirit, or traditions of men.
6. The Bible, that contains sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the complete, final, authoritative written work of God, infallible and inerrant in its autographs and trustworthy in its transmission.
7. There is but one mediator between God and man, the man Jesus Christ (1 Tim. 2:5); therefore, it is not scriptural, prudent, or efficacious to pray to or to venerate Mary or any saint, except to acknowledge them as human creatures greatly used by God.
8. The covenant being made with Adam, not only for himself, but for his posterity, all mankind, descending from him by ordinary generation, sinned in him, and fell with him in his transgression, by which fallen man lost communion with God, is under His wrath and curse, and so made liable to all miseries of this life, to death itself and to the pains of Hell forever.
9. Salvation is by grace, through faith and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God, not works, lest anyone should boast. (Eph. 2:8-9)
10. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. "For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation...for whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:9, 10, 13)
