Grading Policy

How Students Are Graded

Students must perform consistently at  70% or above. New Life Christian Academy does not accept academic performance at a below-average level. A student receiving anything below a C will have one term (semester or quarter) to bring that grade above a 70%. If that goal is not met, the student will be in jeopardy of suspension or expulsion. All possible avenues of assistance will be offered to the student including, but not limited to extensive placement testing, resource availability, tutoring, and adaptive assistance. It is our intention to share in the responsibility with the family of assuring that our students do not fall into this unacceptable category.

Grades will be assigned as follows:

K-1st Grade:          Excellent
                                Good
                                Needs Improvement

2nd-12th Grade:

Grading will be accomplished quarterly in both academics and citizenship. The grading criterion for citizenship will be similar to the primary grade scale. Citizenship infractions will be reported to parents immediately. Students will be given one opportunity to improve before suspension.
